The Fable of Solomon’s Ring

King Solomon, known for his wisdom, once faced a difficult time in his life. Seeking a way to steady himself, he called upon his most trusted advisor and asked for help.

The advisor pondered for a moment and then said, “There is a certain magical ring that I believe will help you. If you wear it, it will make you happy when you are sad, and it will make you thoughtful when you are happy.”Intrigued, Solomon asked where he could find such a ring. The advisor replied, “It is a simple ring, but it carries an inscription with great power. You must find a jeweler who can craft this ring for you.”Solomon sent out messengers to find such a jeweler.

After a long search, they found a wise old jeweler who agreed to craft the ring. When Solomon received the ring, he read the inscription: “This too shall pass.”Upon reading these words, Solomon realized the profound truth they held.

Whether he was experiencing joy or sorrow, the inscription reminded him of the transient nature of life. This simple phrase helped him maintain perspective and equanimity in all situations.
