PX Symbol: Sacred Emblem of Christian Faith

The PX symbol, Or Chi-Rho, is one of the earliest forms of christogram, and it holds a profound significance in Christianity. Comprised of the first two letters of the Greek word “???????” (Christos), which means Christ, the Chi (?) and Rho (?) are superimposed on each other to form this powerful symbol. Its usage can be traced back to the early Christian church and has endured as a symbol of faith and divine kingship.

Constantine’s Vision

The most notable early use of the Chi-Rho symbol dates back to the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great in the early 4th century. According to lore, especially as recounted by the historian Eusebius of Caesarea, Constantine had a vision of the Chi-Rho before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312 AD.

The Triumph of Faith

In his vision, he saw the Chi-Rho along with the words “In this sign, you will conquer.” After painting the symbol on his soldiers’ shields, Constantine won a decisive victory, which he attributed to the Christian God.
